The Wellington Transactional Analysis Training Institute does not intend to begin a new three year part time training course in 2011 but will probably have a new intake in   August 2012.

The aim of the training is to:

Course structure and fees

This is a three year course.

(Note: the fees quoted are indicative but not final)

 Two full days  training each month, at $150.00 per day
  one day theory and practice
  one day of group dynamics, psychotherapy and integration
  plus 2 hour supervision sessions fortnightly in groups of two or three (usually costing $80 per two hour session).
  Thus the full integrated package of training, supervision and therapy is provided for $460 per month (11 month year) or $5,080 for the year.  It is also expected that trainees will attend other optional training events, conferences, etc.
    One day training each month and continuation with supervision.  The cost is thus $260 per month.  In addition trainees are expected to have their own individual or group psychotherapy, usually for one hour per week at a fee negotiated with their therapist.

Examination costs.  Examinations are conducted internationally by the Training and Certification Council of Transactional Analysts.  Their fees can be found at www.itaa-net.org.

The training follows the official I.T.A.A. syllabus with modifications negotiated with the training group and satisfies the requirements for training hours and supervision to sit the international C.T.A. examination.

The course is also intended to satisfy the training and personal psychotherapy requirements of the N.Z. Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP).
The course also fulfils most of the requirements for an M.Sc. (psychotherapy) from Middlesex University, London.

The Wellington Transactional Analysis Training Institute has as its primary staff:
 

Gordon Hewitt MSc(hons), PhD, PTSTA (ITAA), MNZAP, MNZAC

Gordon is a psychotherapist with 20 years experience in treatment, training and management. He is recognised as a trainer and supervisor by the International Transactional Analysis Association (I.T.A.A.) and is a member of the Wellington Supervisors' group of N.Z. Association of Psychotherapists (N.Z.A.P.). He recently served a three year term as president of the International Transactional Analysis Association.  He is currently a Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Psychotherapists' Registration Board.
